SEVEN COMPANIES HONORED AS 2007 BUSINESSES OF THE YEAR

MANCHESTER — Fred Kocher, president of Kocher and Company Inc. and the NH High Technology Council, has been named the 2007 Business Leader of the Year by Business NH Magazine and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. Kocher is honored for his considerable contributions to NH business, including his efforts to support new companies, his championship for education and his promotion of NH’s high-tech economy.

The 2007 NH Business of the Year awards went to the following companies for their outstanding civic contributions and exceptional performance within their industries:

• Business Services — Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green P.A. in Manchester
• Education/Nonprofit — Granite State Independent Living in Concord
• Financial Services/Insurance — Nathan Wechsler & Company, P.A. in Concord and Laconia
• Health Care — Child Health Services in Manchester
• Manufacturing/Technology — Kollsman Inc. in Merrimack
• Retail/Wholesale — W.S. Goodrich Inc. in Epping
• Tourism/Hospitality — Great NH Restaurants LLC (T-BONES & CJ’s) in Bedford

The companies being honored exemplify what is best about NH businesses. This is the 17th year of the recognition program, which will be featured in the May issue of Business NH Magazine.

A screening committee made up of chamber of commerce executives had the difficult task of paring the remarkable field of applicants to three semifinalists in each category. From there, a Panel of Excellence that included executives from last year’s winning companies, selected the winners after careful consideration and great debate.

Awards will be presented at a special luncheon on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Radisson Hotel at the Center of NH in Manchester. Tickets for the luncheon are $53 per person or $424 for a table of eight. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the NHACCE scholarship fund.
