STEPHEN LAWLOR AND WAYNE GEHER OF NATHAN WECHSLER & COMPANY, P.A, SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN COMMITTEE ON NH ACCOUNTANCY ACT

(Concord, NH | October 16, 2008) – Nathan Wechsler & Company, P.A. (NW & Co.) is pleased to announce that Stephen F. Lawlor and Wayne B. Geher have been selected to participate in a Legislative Study Committee related to the Commission to Study Making Changes to the New Hampshire Accountancy Act. Mr. Lawlor has been elected Chair of the Study Committee and will be representing the New Hampshire Society of Public Accountants. Mr. Geher will be representing the New Hampshire Board of Accountancy.

The purpose of the commission is to study making changes to the New Hampshire Accountancy Act, RSA 309-B. The commission will report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation to the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Senate Clerk, the House Clerk, the Governor, and the State Library on or before November 1, 2008.

Stephen F. Lawlor is a director at NW & Co. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of New Hampshire in 1984 and joined NW & Co. in 1985. He was admitted as a shareholder/director in 1992. Steve is a board member and President-elect of the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Wayne B. Geher is the director of the forensic and litigation division, and the governmental and Single Audit accounting division of NW & Co. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University in 1980. Wayne has been appointed by the Governor’s office for a five year term on the New Hampshire State Board of Accountancy and is a member of the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
