According to this year’s Giving USA annual report, overall charitable giving has decreased by almost 2%, across the board. In a recent article published by Network for Good, author Kimberly O’Donnell offers some suggestions for maintaining your non-profits donation levels in the face of this reality.
- Analyze your past performance. By understanding what you’ve done in the past—what has worked and what has not—you can make informed decisions about what steps to take moving forward.
- Identify your strengths. Evaluate the various areas of your operations in order to determine where you excel, then focus on improving and expanding in those areas. Once these skills are optimized, you can start to look for new areas of focused improvement.
- Make a plan. Drawing on the information gleaned from analyzing your organization, create a workable plan for moving forward.
