Operational Efficiency Gains in Grant Foundations

One big downside to grant applications—on both the side of the grant seeker and funder—is the administrative burden. Grant applicants often spend upwards of 20 hours applying for a single grant, and the processing commitment for funders is also significant. In a recent article published by NP Engage, author Chelsea Edwards discusses how technology can offer a solution to increasing operational efficiency for grant foundations.

Some grant foundations have turned to specialized technology systems in order to ease their administrative burden. These solutions have been shown to improve operational efficiencies by reducing administrative work and creating more space for focus on the organization’s mission. Three big benefits that one case study experienced were:
