Many manufacturers are struggling in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, Manufacturing Business Technology began a series of articles that offer tips for manufacturers on staying relevant during the current upheaval.
In the first installment of the series, author Andrew Walker offers two key steps for manufacturers to take in order to meet the challenges presented by the coronavirus crisis. He suggests the following:
Add a Frequently Asked Questions Page to Your Website – Adding a FAQ section that specifically addresses the coronavirus can be very helpful to your customers and potential customers. It is an easy way to display up-to-date information about your current state of operations, any issues regarding products or fulfillment, and the efforts you are taking to protect your team and your clients. It communicates to your customers that you have a firm handle on the current situation.
Focus on Strengthening Your E-Commerce Presence – Since the operability of physical retail locations is in question, making your products easily available online is a good step to take. Consider designating some team members to take the lead on building online visibility and availability.
