Many manufacturers are struggling in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, Manufacturing Business Technology released a series of articles that offer tips for manufacturers on staying relevant during the current upheaval.
In the second installment of the series, author Andrew Walker offers manufacturers three additional strategies for meeting the challenge of the coronavirus crisis. Walker’s tips include the following:
Launch an eCommerce Website – Create an online store for just your “mission critical” products—your minimum viable product (MVP). Cloud-based solutions make doing this quick and easy. You want to make it possible for your customers to get what they need as quickly as possible.
Empower Your Customers with Self-Service Tools – Enable your clients to access the information they want when they want it. Rather than requiring them to call a customer service representative, add online tools that allow them to place order and track deliveries online.
Enable Your Sales Team to Work Remotely – Many businesses are requiring any team members who can work from home to do so. Be sure that if you do have part of your workforce working offsite that you have empowered them to be successful by equipping them with the tools they need, such as access to the CRM system and any necessary hardware.
