Nathan Wechsler & Company, PA is pleased to announce that Cydney Dodge was recently selected as a 2022 Sandra C. Larabee Volunteer Values award winner for the Eastern New England Area of the American Cancer Society.
The 2022 Sandra C. Larabee Volunteer Values award is an annual award presented to “the most inspired and passionate individuals… whose service best exemplifies the Society’s organizational values.” Award recipients are selected by the New England Area Board of Directors.
“Winning this award warmed my heart and honored family members I have lost along the way,” Dodge said. “It meant that my passion for the cause is helping those with cancer each day with new treatment options, ongoing research, and supporting the programs of the American Cancer Society. The award symbolizes hope.”
Dodge is the Volunteer Event Chair for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of New Hampshire, an annual walk that raises both funds and awareness for breast cancer research through the American Cancer Society. She has been volunteering with this event for 26 years.
“Each year as we prepare to raise funds for ACS, I have an opportunity to reflect on how the funds we raise help the American Cancer Society,” said Dodge. “From the ongoing research for a cure, to the programs and services offered to those going through cancer and their families, there are so many ways the ACS works to provide hope to the newly diagnosed and keep the warm memory of those we have lost alive. I gained many skills and qualities by being involved with this volunteer group.”
This year’s event was held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Memorial Field in Concord and participants raised over $477,000. For more information about Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, visit https://secure.acsevents.org/site/SPageServer?pagename=strides_learn.
