There is a perception that managing in manufacturing is drastically different than managing workers in other industries. In a recent article for Forbes, Trond Arne Undheim questions this perceived difference. While he acknowledges that there are physical realities that impact manufacturing, he suggests that the current manufacturing management style “slanted towards control, emphasizing supervision, [and] excessive training” is not the way of the future.
