At Nathan Wechsler & Company, we take pride in the many ways our team members use their talents to give back—and for Catherine Soucy, that means turning her financial expertise into meaningful community impact.
Catherine currently serves as the Financial Secretary for the Western Sun Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming community energy into support for small organizations through grants and volunteer events in the areas they travel through.
“I really enjoy the opportunity to take what I’ve learned in my career and use it to give back to my community,” says Catherine.
She first discovered the opportunity through an Instagram post. The Foundation—closely tied to one of her favorite touring bands—was seeking volunteers with finance backgrounds. Drawn to the organization’s mission and its unique connection to the music she loves, Catherine applied and joined the board just three months ago.
Even in that short time, the Foundation has made an impressive impact. They recently wrapped up FY25 with $46,500 donated to 8 organizations, bringing their total giving since inception in 2022 to $87,000 across 20 nonprofits.
“It’s exciting to see how small efforts from a group of passionate people can create real change,” Catherine shared. “Being part of that movement—even behind the scenes—is incredibly meaningful.”
