Flexibility + Time Off

Our Flexible Work Arrangement Program recognizes that an 8-to-5 workday doesn’t work for everyone and encourages our employees to craft working arrangements that allow them to maximize productivity. Team members can take paid time off to study, take the CPA exam and honor their volunteer commitments.

From May to December, our team can take advantage of half-day Fridays as long as their time commitment has been met for the week. Also, during the months of June and July, the firm offers full-day Fridays off as long as their time commitment has been met for the week. We also provide 8–10 paid holidays a year.

Growth & Responsibility

When someone starts their career at Nathan Wechsler, our goal is to help them grow their career as part of the Nathan Wechsler team. We provide opportunities for team members to work on various projects and clients and gain experience on tax and audit engagements.

Additionally, all firm professionals are encouraged to pursue credentialing as a CPA as soon as they qualify. Our CPA Exam and Certification Program provides eligible employees with time off for exams and significant financial assistance with preparation and certification fees. A bonus is also available to team members who pass all four parts of the exam and are eligible for their certification.

We know that our team is our firm’s greatest asset, which is why we celebrate them with every chance we get. We regularly ask our staff to provide updates on their achievements—joining a board, gaining a new accreditation—so we can share the news on our firm’s blog and in our community’s media outlets. We host dinners and outings as signs of appreciation and as opportunities to spend time as a team.

We also recognize that evaluating and providing feedback are a key aspect of supporting our staff’s professional development. Our team members are evaluated annually, and with our mentorship program and open-door policy, staff members who want feedback on an engagement or project have no difficulty receiving it.

Our employees volunteer at dozens of organizations and sit on more than 50 nonprofit boards throughout New Hampshire and beyond. Compensation + Benefits

One of the hallmarks of the accounting profession is its busy seasons. While the departments at our firm experience their busy seasons at various times, we recognize that sometimes, team members are working more than their minimum required hours. That’s why, in addition to our competitive base compensation, we award compensation time to staff that work over their minimum required hours.

We understand compensation is just part of the equation, so we provide several health and financial benefits. Employees and their eligible dependents can choose from a variety of health benefit plans. We take care of a portion of an employee’s monthly insurance premium.

In addition to CPE opportunities, our partnership with SNHU and Franklin Pierce University allows employees, interns, and their families to receive tuition discounts. Plus, with our integrated mentorship program, your peers will guide you in both your technical and soft skill development.

Transparent & Frequent Communication

Our main goal for our staff is simple: we work as a team to get things done.  We treat each other with respect and prioritize communications.  The firm has bi-weekly staff meetings and once a year state of the firm.  Each employee is assigned two evaluators that the staff can reach out to.  Lastly, the shareholder group maintains an open-door policy and is always available to answer any questions the staff may have or help with any concerns.  They take a holistic approach to make sure firm business is balanced appropriately for both personal development and work/life balance.

Camaraderie & Fun

It may sound corny, but the Nathan Wechsler staff genuinely like each other a lot. We enjoy spending time together and celebrating each other’s milestones, whether that’s a life milestone, like a wedding or a new baby, or a professional one, like passing the CPA exam. The firm hosts several outings during the year and provides opportunities, like our monthly happy hours, to relax and bond with coworkers. We work hard— there’s no question about that—but we also like to have fun!
