The Nathan Wechsler offices in Concord, Keene, and Lebanon, NH are seeking experienced tax preparers to add to their professional team. As a result of recent growth and new client acquisitions, we are expanding our staff in these offices. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience preparing a variety of tax returns, both corporate and individual. Knowledge with estates and trusts, and ProSystem Fx Tax software is preferred, but not required.

Professional Skills

  • Understands nature of assignments; can summarize assignment back to supervisor/Pie
  • Takes copious notes during assignment communications and meetings in order to foster efficiency and personal and professional development, as well as effective communication
  • Understands and follows direction of supervisors/PICs
  • Understands or seeks guidance regarding prioritization of multiple assignments
  • Proactively informs supervisor of progress of assigned areas and timing of expected completion

  • Gains sufficient understanding of the issue/question prior to seeking assistance from supervisor/PIC, yet balances use of the firm’s “10-minute rule” to avoid spinning wheels and making no progress
  • Timely advises management of need for additional assignments
  • Promptly handles client inquiries and requests (i.e. gather pertinent facts, confidently admits ignorance, as applicable, and brings to attention of supervisor/Pie)

  • Proactively utilizes the firm’s mentoring program and takes responsibility for establishing timely mentoring meetings

  • Participates in the billing process in effort to obtain highest billings possible in such process, i.e. ensuring full communication of issues on assignments to avoid leaving billings “on the table”
  • Relates firm service offerings to potential service opportunities for current clients and communicates identified opportunities to supervisor/PIC
  • Fosters a teamwork environment
  • Offers solutions to scheduling/workload conflicts or challenges
  • Maintains professional and regular rapport with client personnel
  • Achieves level of continuing education (regardless of certification status) required by firm standards
